Wedding Photos and Videos from Smedmore House
February 25, 2014Smedmore House has one of the most perfect settings of all the wedding venues Dorset. It works equally well for either a full wedding and reception or perhaps just for the party or reception. Many couples choose to marry in the Avenue with its lovely backdrop of extensive views to the sea. Others prefer the Walled Garden to the side of the house where the high stone walls offer more shelter.
There are many different ways of celebrating a wedding at Smedmore House – and these can be seen in the huge choice of marquees and floral decoration available from our recommended suppliers. Our list of caterers and bars also includes something for everyone.
Before booking, it is good idea to check the availability of the Dorset Registrar as their participation is essential if you want a civil ceremony. For those who prefer a church ceremony, the largest local church is St. Edward’s in Corfe Castle, about 4 miles away. There are several other local churches in the same group, including the small one in Kimmeridge. Information about church weddings can be found here, together with the details of all the local churches. The Reverend Ian Jackson is the rector of this group of parishes and he can be contacted here.
